Restoration Information
My specialty and reputation in the country is for restoring antique pump organs, both inside and out, so they look and play pretty much the same way they did when they first left the factory or to museum quality.
As you can probably imagine, a fair amount of time and effort goes into professionally restoring pump organs built by some of the 653-pump organ manufactures that were once in business in this country. Many of these organs were built before the Civil War (1861–65).
By the way, if you haven’t seen the level of my restoration work, I strongly recommend you view my “Restoration Picture Tour,” found on my website’s front-page directory.
It’s also important for me to point out that the level of restoration work that I provide my customers is, frankly, not for everyone -- this is an important point. Some pump organ owners may only be looking to have some repairs done to their organ.
However, I do no pump organ repair work, unless it’s part of an organ’s complete restoration.
I provide all my customers with free nation-wide pickup & delivery from anywhere in the country to anywhere in the country.
I handle all the shipping arrangements, from having your organ picked up from inside your home (or wherever it is in the country) to having the organ palletized, crated, and shipped to me.
The customer doesn't have to do or touch a thing. And it can all done with a phone call, an email, or a text message.
If you’re wondering if your organ will be insured as it travels, the answer is yes. Your will be insured, from when it leaves your home until it arrives back by to you by one of the oldest and most reliable insurance companies in America, The Hartford.
Next, I provide all my customers with a “Restoration Photo Album” of around 60 photographs showing their organ’s step-by-step restoration--this has important value for a couple of reasons.
Without it, how does the owner (or anyone for that matter) know if the organ has been professionally restored and in what manner? It’s also important for insurance documentation.
You’ll want to be sure and contact your homeowner's insurance provider once your organ has been returned to you because your organ will be worth significantly more--this is a key point.
As soon as I receive your “good faith” deposit, which is half of the total restoration cost, I begin making all the pickup and shipping arrangements.
After the organ has been completely restored and the remaining balance is received the organ is crated up and delivered anywhere in the country you would like.
Organ restoration turnaround time generally runs right around 6 to 7 months unless the customer needs their organ sooner.
Well, that’s about it!
With a couple of photos of your organ, I’ll be able to tell you exactly what the total cost would be to completely restore your organ.
Please Note: I do not reupholster or restored any kind of pump organ seats or benches That is something you’ll need to have done locally.
